27.08.24 Oasis are back together!

Thirty years after the release of their captivating debut album, Oasis have announced they are reuniting – news that has delighted middle-aged fans and a whole new generation alike.

Like all great bands, Oasis has a history that is enshrined in rock 'n' roll folklore: from their serendipitous spotting by record exec Alan McGee after they gatecrashed the bill of a gig in Glasgow in 1993, to the moment that marked the end 16 years later when Liam Gallagher threw a piece of fruit at his brother Noel backstage in Paris.

08.05.05 Oasis till I die!
Liam Gallagher has promised that his famous feud with brother Noel will never threaten the band's future. The outspoken star is constantly at odds with his guitarist sibling, but he insists Oasis will be topping the charts for years to come - because all their bitter fights end in a truce: "Me and him are brothers and we'll never be over. That's the beauty of the band. If we were mates then we'd be on our a**e before now, but we're in this forever."

However, he admits he still can't get on with him: "I don't like him, he's a f**king smug c**t. And he don't like me because I'm happy-go-lucky kind of guy. I embarrass him because I don't take things quite as seriously as he does."

Noel Gallagher admits that while he's looking forward to the band's impending tour, he expects his relationship with his brother Liam to follow its usual, fractious course.

"It's always the same," he explained. "It starts off great and then somewhere, usually in America – I don't know why, probably the sight of cactus plants or something like that – it freaks Liam out. Then he oversteps the mark a little bit and it degenerates from there. It starts out great, then it just ends up being a bit of a shame, really. We'll see what happens this year."

22.01.05 Who wants Oasis?

A fierce bidding war that could net LIAM and NOEL GALLAGHER a massive £15million record deal is starting. Major labels are fighting to sign the boys after their Sony contract runs out in the summer.

Bosses from companies including EMI and V2 have been told to pull out all the stops to land the group. The competition may even lead Sony to come up with more cash to get the Gallaghers on board again. Oasis could eventually sign a three-album deal worth £15 million."Now it's a question of who puts the most money down on the table. Everybody wants Liam and Noel. They are still an act who can sell millions of records."

Noel said: "We've written 66 songs between the four of us. We were going to do a double album but we didn't want to give Sony that much as it's our last album with them."

The boys will do a UK tour in the summer for which 330,000 tickets have already been sold.
