D'You Know What I Mean?

Stay Young was ear-marked to be the "Digsy's Dinner" of Be Here Now, but Noel dumped it. Stay Young wound up on D'You Know What I Mean?, and could have been another a-side if its composer had actually liked the song. But he doesn't (audiences who have more sense than songwriters, all love it.)
Noel: "I don't like it. I wrote it by mistake for the last album. Why it didn't go on the album is because I wrote Magic pie. Sounds like the Kinks I think. I don't like the guitar solo on it. I don't like the sound of it either. That's one of the first ones we recorded for Be here now and I think we did it in Abbey Road coz when you start doing an album you usually start out with the ones you like the least just to get into it."
Is also available on the soundtrack to The Faculty.

lyrics

One way out is all you're ever gonna get
From those who hand them out don't ever let it upset you
Coz they'll put words into our mouths
They're making you feel so ashamed

Making you take in the blame
Making you cold in the night
Making you question your heart and your soul
And I think that it's not quite right

Hey! stay young and invincible
Coz we know just what we are
And come what may, we're unstoppable
Coz we know just what we are
Yeah, we know just what we are...

Feed your head with all the things you need when you're hungry
Stay in bed and sleep all day as long as the sun
Coz they'll put words into your mouth
They're making you feel so ashamed
