Acquiesce is one of those "should have been an a-side" songs (Creation Records certainly thought it deserved better than a life as a b-side). The song is about friendship in the widest sense and not, as often speculated, about the Gallagher brothers themselves. Noel sings the chorus as he claims that Liam couldn't reach the high notes. It was written on a train to Wales where Noel was travelling with his guitar.
