album Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants

Liam Gallagher's first song, written for James Kensit, Patsy's son by Jim Kerr. Elevated by Liam's stark emotional vocals and naïve but ingenious rhymes.
Noel "When we were up on our studio, you could always hear Liam somewhere, strumming a guitar. We kept hearing this tune, but he was getting a bit coy about it. One day he was in one of the live rooms, we'd left a mic switched on, and he was singing it to himself really quietly. So we put a tape in and recorded without telling him. A few days later, he left to go on holiday with Patsy, and we wrote the words down, did a little arrangement, and by the time he got back from Tenerife, we'd finished the song and it was ready for him to sing. I think he was intending it to be a little acoustic number, but I said if it was going on the album, it had to be massive. I think it's a really good attempt for a first song."
12 string acoustic guitar by Mark Coyle.

lyrics

Little James we're all the same
They always seem to look to us
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

You live for your toys
Even though they make noise
Have you ever played with plastercine
Or even tried a trampoline
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum that's all
Coz it won't be long before everyone is gone

Sailed out to sea
Your mum and me
You swam the ocean like a child
Life around us was so wild
Thank you for smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum that's all
Coz it won't be long before everyone is gone
